My First Tag

I've been tagged by Maegan & Nikol! So I'm gonna do one for my personal blog and one on the family blog. Since I am at work, and don't store all my cutesy family photos here, I have to work with what I've got. And what I've got is a bunch of photos of Shia LaBeouf and The Office.
Here are the rules:1. Go to your sixth picture file.2. Go to the sixth picture in that file.3. Post it and blog about it.4. Tag 6 friends
Okay, so my 6th photo was of an Avon product. Boring! So I was gonna go with the 5th or 7th photo, but I just couldn't decide. So you get both.

A mini, avatar size computer drawing of Dwight Schrute.

An ultra pretty example of photoshop at its finest.
And since I don't want to disappoint you after I've teased you about my Shia photo collection, here's my 6th Shia photo.

Linda Goodman's Love Signs

I'm not one of those hippie/gypsy types that is all into incense, tarot, and crystal balls, but I do find astrology somewhat interesting. I'm not sure exactly how much of it I buy into, but I do buy into it to a certain degree. For example, I think horoscopes (daily, monthly, etc) are total crap. On the flip side, I do find that certain characteristics/personality traits associated with the different astrological signs to be dead on. For example, I am a Taurus, symbolized by the bull, and we are notoriously stubborn and bull-headed. I find this to be absolutely true. We are also, in fact, completely awesome, but I digress.

Anyway, back in the 70's, my mom was apparently way into astrology. Who wasn't back then? I'm told she did detailed charts on our family down to the day of the week and time of day that we were born, though I keep forgetting to ask her about it. I'd love to get my hands on them. Again, I digress...so Linda Goodman was like the absolute guru on all things relating to astrology and she wrote all kinds of books on the topic. My mom had one of these books, Love Signs. I remember it always being on the bookshelf...old, faded, red, hardback, with gold lettering. But I never took a look at it until Eric & I got together and hadn't looked at it since. The book basically evaluates all the possible combinations of astrological signs and further breaks it down to male & female roles, then it talks about how the relationship functions as a couple.

I've found it to be pretty accurate in terms of mine & Eric's relationship! As I was reading, I was nodding my head and identifying with the good and the bad. Incidentally, it says we are actually a pretty good match.

I was itching to check it out again and luckily, my brother gave it to me for Christmas. I've loaned it to a friend to look at to see if she finds it to be accurate as well, and I'd love for all my friends to check it out and give me their opinions. Anyone interested?

It's super fun to read up about exes too!

Body Snatchers Book

I'm apparently a nut case. Truly. I am a glutton for punishment and I just don't know when to quit.

Remember all my ranting and raving about the sucktastic Twilight book series? Sure you do, because I just would not. stop. talking. about it. Well its baa-aack! For I have just picked up another book by the same author, Stephenie Meyer, that I apparently reserved at the library some odd months ago and forgot about. The library was kind enough to inform me that the book was now available and that I would be charged a re-stocking fee if I did not come and pick it up. It just didn't make sense to let myself be charged for not reading a boook, so I decided to pick it up yesterday. It's called The Host. It has nothing to do with vampires/werewolves or any of the Twilight characters. This one is about body snatchers that invade Earth. The main character gets body snatched and mentally fights against the being that inhabits her body. I haven't even read page one yet, but I'll keep you posted. Considering the author, I'm not very optimistic. I'm sort of expecting the two minds to fight over things like what color lip gloss to wear, whether to have tuna or turkey for lunch, and whether or not their butt looks big in that outfit.

Beauty Products I Can't Live Without...

is really what I should have titled my last post. These are things I can't live without, because I have lots of other frilly, frou-frou faves, but there are way too many to mention.

I also thought of some additional "can't live without" items.

Hope In A Jar moisturizer by Philosophy - love the stuff, and would recommend it for all skin types. I have oily skin, so sometimes during the summer, it makes me a little oilier than normal and I need to ease up on the usage. This is always my nighttime moisturizer, but not always my daytime moisturizer. Lately I've had a new favorite daytime moisturizer....

Dr. Denese 30 spf Defense Day Cream - 30 spf and tinted! Also works well as a foundation primer, or for those who don't wear foundation, it makes your skin look all soft focus and even. Great matte finish. I haven't tried a lot of Dr. Denese products yet, but I want to.

Balance-N-Brighten by Laura Geller - I got this as a hand-me-down because my Mom is allergic to Laura Geller products. Luckily, I am not allergic. I've worn this the past couple of days instead of my Bare Escentuals foundation, and I really like it. Since it comes it compact form, it is much less messy, and I actually feel like I use less of the product.
